York Incinerator Ash Pile Concerns State Environment Officials
(PENNSYLVANIA) Two years ago, a pile of incinerator ash near the edge of a neighborhood in York was
growing too large for the state Department of Environmental Protection's satisfaction. At the time, the
DEP told the pile's owner to begin moving it. But today, the pile is more than three times as large.
